Rethinking Readers’ Advisory: An Interactive Approach

Rethinking Readers’ Advisory: An Interactive Approach
6-week eCourse with Rebecca Howard
and Laura Raphael

Begins Monday, November 4

By using a form-based approach to Readers’ Advisory, librarians can develop RA services that are more efficient and more responsive to patrons’ needs. In this eCourse, you’ll go in-depth and learn all about this exciting RA model, from start (getting administrative and staff buy-in) to finish (building forms and training staff members).

Rebecca Howard is a Readers’ Librarian and coordinates “Your Next Great Read”. She is a regular contributor to the blog Reading Addict, and develops and supports Readers’ Library programming. An ALA member, she also belongs to the Social Responsibilities Roundtable and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Roundtable.

Laura Raphael worked at the Tulsa City-County Library in a variety of jobs including Associate Volunteer Coordinator before becoming Associate Librarian in the Readers’ Library department of the Central Library, a position she has held since 2006. She has an M.A. in English Literature from Northeastern State University.
