Library Human Resources Management Association

It is with much excitement that we announce the establishment of
The Library Human Resources Management Association (LHRMA)
This independent organization will be dedicated to promoting the work of library human resources officers and HR staff throughout North America giving them a platform for sharing ideas and the ability to network as a community.
The Inaugural Conference is scheduled for Sunday October 6 and Monday October 7 in Philadelphia and will feature three keynote speakers and over 20 workshops. The Inaugural Conference will be devoted exclusively to the major issues facing library HR directors in public, academic, and special libraries throughout North America.
We are now accepting proposals for workshops. Proposals should be for 60 minute sessions and should be relevant to the library HR manager. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• job design
• recruiting
• screening
• interviewing
• selection
• orientation
• compensation design
• benefit administration
• training
• performance evaluation
• labor negotiation and collective bargaining
• employee relations
• employee communications
• conflict resolution
• continuing education management
• staff development

• termination
The deadline to submit proposals is Wednesday July 31, 2013. Send all proposals and questions to tcgproposals@yahoo.com. More information on the Inaugural Conference will be available in August.
