The 45th annual meeting of the Council on Botanical and Horticultural Libraries, Inc. (CBHL) will be held in East Lansing, Michigan, May 7-10, 2013. The meeting, “A Study in Green: Horticultural and Botanical Educations for All Ages,” will be hosted by the Michigan State University Libraries.
Launching this annual meeting is a trio of pre-conference workshops exploring catalog record acquisition, exhibit creation and digital reference programs. Throughout the meeting, speakers and panels will explore topics ranging from e-book packages and services to historic collection outreach initiatives. Noted horticulturist and writer, Dr. Allan Armitage, will be among the featured speakers. Study tours during the meeting will visit the horticultural and bibliographic resources of the MSU campus with site visits to the Dow Gardens, W. J. Beal Botanical Garden, Clarence E. Lewis Landscape Arboretum plus the libraries at Michigan State University. Post conference tours will include visits to the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Edsel & Eleanor Ford House, Grounds & Gardens and Cranbrook Institute.
