“Information Petting Zoo: Consumer Health Resources about Animals.”

This month’s guest presenter will be Heather K. Moberly, MSLS, AHIP, Professor and Veterinary Medicine Librarian with the William E Brock Memorial Library at the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences at the Oklahoma State University.

In the spirit of our consumer health webinars, this month we will focus on resources where the “consumer” is an animal and the information seeker is generally their owner. We will provide a brief overview to veterinary education and specialties. Focusing on companion animals (family animals such as cats and dogs) the majority of the webinar will present and discuss authoritative resources covering topics such as pet care, pets and emergencies/disasters, zoonoses (diseases you can catch from animals), and toxic foods and plants. Educational resources, particularly those K-12 appropriate and multilingual resources will be presented when possible.
