Please join the ULS Campus Administration & Leadership Discussion Group for a conversation about planning and partnerships in support of research data services.
The Association of College & Research Libraries reports that a quarter to a third of all academic libraries plan to offer support for research data services within the next two years. What factors (planning, training, funding,
partnerships) contribute to success with this emerging role?
Lynn Baird, Dean of the Library at the University of Idaho, will facilitate the discussion. Lynn is co-director of the Northwest Knowledge Network, a cooperative program of the University of Idaho, Department of Energy Idaho National Laboratory, and the US Department of Interior US Geological Survey, which makes cross disciplinary research data accessible, comprehensible, usable, and secure for data providers and users. Lynn is also an active participant in the NSF-funded DataONE project.
Everyone is welcome to share questions, insights and experiences.
