Science Boot Camp for Librarians

2013 is just around the corner, and you won’t want to miss out on these exciting professional development events for science, health sciences and technology librarians.

April 3, 2013:  e-Science Symposium for Librarians (now in its 5th year!), Hoagland Pincus Conference Center, Shrewsbury, MA

The e-Science symposium provides an opportunity for librarians to learn about emerging library roles in e-science and research data services. This fifth symposium will take a look at a collaboration between a supercomputing center and library by featuring a two-part morning address by Richard Moore, Director of the University of California San Diego Supercomputing Center, and Ardys Kozbial, Director of the Research Data Curation Program at the University of California San Diego Library. Invitations for the symposium will be issued in late December or early January. Science Boot Camps for Librarians<http://esciencelibrary.umassmed.edu/science_bootcamp> are immersive 2 ½ day events featuring educational presentations about science. Each year Science Boot Camp focuses on three science subjects and invite local faculty experts to present overviews and current research endeavors. Science topics for this upcoming 2013 are TBD.
