If you or someone you know is interested in learning basic business research skills in the area of investment research, please consider the following online course at Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science:
This online course is four weeks long, begins November 1st-30th, with about 3-4 hours of work per week.
We will cover personal finance, investments, banking products, stocks, bonds, company and industry research, mutual funds, retirement accounts, real estate, taxation and more… The focus is on both understanding financial concepts and building research skills. Weekly activities include lectures with links to mainly free business resources and selected databases, case studies to respond to and discuss, short exercise sets and a work related project of each student’s choice.
It’s a great way to delve into business research! No experience necessary, but appropriate for both novice and intermediate searchers.
Examples are relevant to both public and academic libraries.
