Study for an MLIS with a scholarship for students from underserved communities of diverse backgrounds

via email

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is proud to announce a scholarship opportunity available to prospective MLIS students. The Academic and Cultural Enrichment (ACE) Scholars Program is a joint effort between the University Libraries and the LIS Department at UNCG. The goal of the program is to increase the number of culturally diverse librarians in academic libraries in the U.S .   With support from a second grant ( $889,401 ) from the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, the ACE Scholarship will cover educational expenses for fifteen students in the two-year MLIS program beginning Fall 2011.

Please share this excellent scholarship and educational opportunity with potential MLIS students of diverse backgrounds, who have an acute understanding of the information barriers facing underserved communities and a commitment to working to remove them.
